Townswomen get audio-visual treat

ON a dank, dreary November afternoon the members Morpeth Stobhillgate Townswomen’s Guild were treated to an audio-visual display by Mr and Mrs Soady of the Northumbria Audio Visual Society.

The scenes at ‘Cragside in Autumn’ were absolutely lovely. A stunning display of colours and views accompanied by Nat King Cole singing ‘Autumn Leaves’.

We then had photographs of wildlife, too many species to mention but ending with the king of the jungle, lions.

Glenn Miller’s band playing ‘In the Mood’ introduced a short film of the 40th Northumbrian Gathering, full of sights and scenery in Morpeth.

‘A Flower Creation’ followed with the most beautiful colours.

‘Winter Delight’ showed snow scenes from Cramlington and Stannington last winter.

The song accompanying this was of course, ‘White Christmas’.

Finally a stunning film of York Minster showing in particular the lovely ceilings.

We had ‘The Lord’s Prayer’, ‘Abide With Me’ and ‘Jerusalem’ to round off a terrific afternoon.

It takes Mr and Mrs Soady up to a year to put a show together, and they were thanked by one of our guild members, Mrs Betty Stoker.

There is no meeting in December instead we will be enjoying Christmas lunch at Marabinis.
