A PONTELAND-BASED charity received plenty of support at its latest event.

A total of £1,500 was raised for LegaCare (UK) from the Mad Hatters Tea Party in Ponteland Park, which featured a bonnet parade, rides, an egg hunt, games and a bouncy castle.

Organisations and companies which provided donations or assistance included Ponteland Town Council, Ponteland Middle School, First Ponteland Scouts, Dobbies Garden World, Elliott’s of Ponteland, Davidson of Darras Hall, Waitrose, the Co-op, Carousel Gift Shop and Sainsbury’s, which donated some DVDs for the egg hunt. Marks & Spencer, Tesco, the Nestle factory in Fawdon, Smyths Toys, Poundstretcher, Greggs and Daren Persson Funeral Services (based in North Shields) also supported the event.

LegaCare helps people who have life-limiting diseases with legal issues such as employment, debt and mortgages, guardianship, insurance claims and wills.
