A MOTORING service which covers Northumberland has scooped three national awards.

More than 600 vehicles were rescued within 48 hours across the county and Tyne and Wear in June, following heavy thunderstorms, by workers from CF Motoring.

The 24-hour vehicle recovery and breakdown company was named National Contractor of the Year in both the RAC and AA annual recovery awards.

It also came runner-up for its body repair services in the WNS Assistance Bodyshop Oscars.

Joint Managing Director Bill Calvert said: “It’s fantastic news for our company that within the space of two months we have won three national awards, which is a testament to our dedicated team and service record.

“A great example of our work can be seen during June’s floods where we worked around the clock to rescue more than 600 vehicles from dangerous breakdown situations within only two days.

“Where possible we have been able to repair flood damaged vehicles and are currently working with insurance providers across the country to help get these vehicles back on the road.”
