Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that three of its longest-serving non-executive directors will not seek re-election when their current terms end in December.

At its annual general meeting, the organisation thanked David Thompson, Ian Swithenbank and Ian McMinn for their collective service, totalling 47 years.

Coun Swithenbank joined Northumbria Healthcare in this role in 1999 and previously held the chairman and leader positions at Northumberland County Council. He is currently portfolio holder for streetcare and environment at this authority.
