Trust takes lead on dogs

DOG owners have been told to keep their pets under control when visiting a coastal beauty spot.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust says that dogs should be kept on a lead at Druridge Bay as they can disturb wildlife such as badgers, foxes and mice, and there have been reports of them biting sheep and upsetting cattle.

If cattle are startled they may stampede, killing or seriously injuring the dogs or their owners.

The Trust does not accept any responsibility for dogs that are injured in the area.
