Tune in to Legends

A NORTH East radio station is seeking to team up with more community partners to spread the Three Legends phone-in across the region.

The Herald reported earlier this month that Longhirst-based Koast Radio would be broadcasting the popular football phone-in, starring Bernie Slaven, Malcolm Macdonald and Micky Horswill, after the show was abruptly axed by Real Radio following a 14-year run.

Star Radio, covering Durham, Darlington and North Yorkshire, will be bringing the programme back to the FM airwaves with a daily slot from 6pm to 8pm, and it is looking to form partnerships with other online community stations to ensure the show reaches as many local football fans as possible.

The re-launched phone-in began this week with Mr Slaven and guests, with the other legends set to join when contractual issues are resolved with Real Radio.
