Turbine bids in plans

THE following planning applications have been submitted to Northumberland County Council.

Belsay: Mr Richard Leiper, land north of Black Heddon Heugh, one 36.6m high (hub) wind turbine with a tip height of 46.3m.

Longhirst: Ms Jaqueline Stevenson, 1 Fawdon House Farm, conversion of garage and extension to form snug.

Matfen: Mr and Mrs Wilson, Robin Hood Inn, Military Road, East Wallhouses, bedroom accommodation.

Morpeth: Mrs Suchittra Nadon, 12A Newgate Street, one flat sign with discrete illumination from spotlight and one projected illuminated with discrete spotlight; Mr Stuart Hendy, Somersby Grange, 3 Somersby Wood, Tree Preservation Order, prune three trees, including two conifers, by five per cent on southern and western boundaries.

Nunnykirk: Mr G Lowes, Todburn West, Longhorsley, planning permission to replace extant permission to extend time limit for implementation relating to A/2010/0313.

Stamfordham: Mr Guy Green, land north east of Heatherslaw Heugh, single 500kw wind turbine on a 50m tower with associated switch gear housing, access track, underground cable and temporary crane hardstanding area.

Stannington: Mr David Sheppard, land east of Horticultural Skills Unit, Park Drive, Hepscott Park, Tree Preservation Order, raise canopy of ash tree by 2m and fell and remove pine tree to enable vehicle access to pumping station.

Thirston: Mr David Orange, Bennington Lodge, Stable Drive, Eshott, Tree Preservation Order, remove dead wood and crossing/rubbing limbs from six beech trees.

Widdrington Station and Stobswood: Mr P Brown, 5 Grangewood, Stobswood, side bedroom and en-suite extension.
