Town pays respects to the fallen.
Hundreds of people gathered in Morpeth to pay their respects at the town’s Cenotaph.
After the Standards were lowered and a two minute silence, wreaths were laid at the foot of the War Memorial. Vice Lord Lieutenant for Northumberland Tony Glenton placed a tribute on behalf of H M The Queen followed by the Mayor of Morpeth Joan Tebbutt. Members of the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and representatives of many organisations in the town followed suit.
