Residents have the opportunity to help shape the future of cycling in Northumberland.
The county already has an extensive network of cycling and walking routes and a Walking and Cycling Board, which aims to bring all agencies together to help boost the area’s economic, health and tourism sectors, was recently established.
Northumberland County Council is now looking to build on this with its new Cycling Plan. The plan’s objectives include raising the profile of cycling across the county and maximising its role as a mode of transport in order to reduce the use of private vehicles.
