Village speed gun donation

POLICE will be watching out for speeding drivers in Ponteland after receiving a helping hand to purchase a speed gun.

The equipment will be used in the village and Darras Hall, as well as Prudhoe, after county councillors from both areas allocated part of their members’ small scheme budget to fund it.

Ponteland North member Richard Dodd made the announcement to Ponteland Town Council.

He also said he is having discussions with officers about the possibility of turning the lay-by at Merton Way shopping centre into some short-stay parking bays.
