PARTY-LOVING villagers have come together for a community picnic.
Residents in Mitford so enjoyed the village’s Diamond Jubilee Party last year, marking the Queen’s 60-year reign, that they decided to do it all again.
A sub-committee from Mitford Village Hall Management Committee joined the core of the Diamond Jubilee Committee to organise the picnic, which was opened on Saturday by Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery.
There were stalls, a barbecue, cup cake competition and tug of war, and a bouncy castle was hired courtesy of Lynemouth Power and Bruce Shepherd. The star attraction was The Coquet Lass steamroller, which was taken along by owner David Walker, of Hartburn.
