Villagers make it a success

VILLAGERS have been thanked for their support of Diamond Jubilee events.

Residents in Widdrington Station and Stobswood enjoyed a number of activities to celebrate the Queen’s 60-year reign, including a big lunch with a singer and magician, a children’s fun day and a firework display.

Parish councillor Anderson Crowe, who helped to organise the events, has now thanked the community for helping to make them a success.

“Some members of the public came to support us and get things going so they deserve a pat on the back for helping us out and I want to say a big thank you to them,” he said.
