WATER works amounting to £450,000 will begin in Ulgham next week.
Northumbrian Water is planning to install a new water main under the railway line, which will connect to the existing main at Ulgham Grange level crossing.
In addition, the company will reline the existing water main under the railway line.
The work will begin on Monday and is expected to take four months.
Construction traffic will need access to the area where the improvements are being carried out, as well as to a site compound on farmland opposite Ulgham Grange Farm, next to the railway line.
Traffic management systems will also be in place and the road at Ulgham Grange level crossing will be closed from Monday, October 24 to Saturday, November 12. Signed diversions will be in place.
