Where there’s a will, there’s a way for charity

A MORPETH solicitor is offering his will-writing services for free next month as part of a nationwide charity drive.

Michael Gaunt, of Brumell and Sample in Bridge Street, is taking part in the Will Aid scheme.

The initiative, which runs throughout November, sees normal charges for writing a basic will set aside, with clients instead invited to make a donation to the Will Aid charities.

The suggested sum is £85 for a single Will, £125 for mirror wills or £40 for changes to a previous will.

There is also the opportunity to register the location of their will for free, instead of the usual £30 cost, which makes it easier for loved ones to locate it.

Money raised from the initiative is shared between ActionAid, Age UK, the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save The Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

Last year more than 19,000 people across the UK took part in the scheme, raising more than £1.5million.

People are advised to book an appointment early as demand is expected to be high.
