SHOPPERS can get into the festive spirit when Morpeth’s flagship department store unveils its Christmas window at the weekend.
Rutherfords of Morpeth is preparing for a busy day on Saturday when the Bridge Street store starts its countdown to Christmas with a special event.
Rutherfords’ Christmas window has helped draw in hordes of festive shoppers to the town in previous years, and this year’s window, designed by store merchandiser Jill Harthill, will feature sleighs, trees, snowmen and animals.
The store has organised a special shopping day to coincide with the official launch of the festive window and plans to throw out the welcome mat to new and old customers, with free sherry and mince pies.
There will also be models on the fashion floor, wearing Rutherfords’ cutting-edge labels.
With every purchase customers will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher to treat themselves in the store.
Rutherfords co-owner Jane Rutherford said: “We want to put some fun back into Christmas and get people in the festive spirit.
“There is so much doom and gloom in the news so this is a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy themselves, come along and have a sherry and a mince pie and see models wearing our fashions.”
