Women join forces for day of prayer

PEOPLE of all denominations are invited to attend the annual Morpeth Women’s World Day of Prayer service tomorrow.

The ecumenical event has been prepared this year by the Christian women of Chile and is entitled How Many Loaves Have You?

The speaker for the Morpeth service will be Margery Tate and town Mayor Ken Brown will be in attendance.

Chairman of the local Women’s World Day of Prayer Committee Val Libby said: “People of all ages and many different backgrounds will be celebrating this Day of Prayer throughout the world and sharing in prayer with the women of Chile.

“We would like to invite everyone, men as well as women, to join us in this moving and uplifting service – the music has a special flavour of the country of Chile and is a special treat.”

The service will take place in St George’s United Reformed Church, Bridge Street, from 2pm. Refreshments will be provided afterwards.
