ACCIDENTS: Prioritise walker safety

Shocking new analysis has discovered that pedestrian casualties on British roads peak in November each year. The research found an increase of 42 per cent in serious pedestrian casualties in November compared to August.

Crossings, 20mph and pedestrian zones are ways of increasing safety and need to be taken seriously. We must prioritise the safety of walkers to make sure everybody feels that they can get out and enjoy their streets and experience the health, social and environmental benefits that walking brings. The Government must invest in walking to help save precious lives.
