Blight on home sales

APPARENTLY Google is mapping the country’s waterways for its Streetview service.

But that service is becoming a blight on property sales because it cannot be updated.

Most house sale websites use Streetview with images recorded some five years ago.

Woe betide anyone whose house has been built or improved or extended since then.

Despite all their efforts it is the old version – or an empty field – which will be featured by Google.

Since many commercial and residential buyers nowawdays may not go beyond looking on the internet they may never see the actual property which is for sale – to the great disadvantage of the owners.

The Government should either force Google to update or seek a remedy in law.
