SO sorry Mr Gritter Driver (front page, Herald, November 1) that we are all in this financial mess together.
It matters not whether the problem situation was caused mainly by the banking crisis or by the greed of the Trades Unions.
Now every British citizen should accept that they should do all they are able towards making the quickest possible return to financial stability to hasten a return to prosperity for everyone.
Perhaps you could serve the community more effectively by standing for election to become a councillor or even to become our MP at the next General Election.
John Major, whom you will remember eventually became Prime Minister, was told to put up or shut up before being elected.
I promise to do my bit by keeping off the roads in adverse weather this winter. Can the people of Northumberland rely on you to do yours?
