SIR, — Despite last minute problems to do with drainage, our recent garden opening in aid of the National Garden Society went ahead, attracting approximately 200 visitors from Essex to Edinburgh.
We are very grateful for the publicity in the 'Herald' which made an enormous difference to the success of the day. We are sending a cheque to the NGS for £850.
