SIR, — The annual Picnic in the Park was held on Sunday at Carlisle Park, Morpeth. This year's picnic was sponsored by the Greater Morpeth Development Trust, Morpeth Town Council, Castle Morpeth Borough Council, with Dave Pope of the Morpeth Chamber of Trade providing the PA system. Another thank you goes to Mermaid Architecture who sponsored the family art project which this year was a three dimensional map of William Turner's Morpeth using a map supplied by the Morpeth Antiquarian Soc
The day was full of excitement with in addition to the art project there were pony rides, face painting, story telling, Woodhorn Matters, a teddy bears' picnic, magic show and much more. This event was started by Morpeth and District Arts Trust and is now being organised by GMDT as an annual family occasion. It is planned to hold it again on the last Sunday in July.

Thanks to all who made this such an enjoyable day for so many people.
