SIR, — As long as there has been a bottle bank in the centre of Morpeth I have carried my glass to it.
Now I am afraid I no longer do so because it has been moved to almost behind the Library.

I live at the North end of the town, I no longer drive and I am a 'recycled teenager' so my glass now goes in my black bin to help clutter the land fill sites.

A friend who lives in North Yorkshire is given a box to put her bottles and jars in, then it is collected by the Council along with her other recyclable waste.

Here in Morpeth the Council collects the lightweight recyclables and leaves the heavy for the householder. I have contacted CMBC on this issue and received an acknowledgement. So far that is all. I feel sure there must be others especially retirees or the disabled who feel as I do.
