SIR, — When I read Peter Towers' letter headlined 'Let's see Morpeth traders create jobs' ('Herald', June 18), I wondered if it was a spoof.
It is obvious that he has never been in business. What he suggests is impossible unless you have an unlimited bank balance to pay people eight hours a day five days a week to 'twiddle their thumbs'. Mr Towers needs to join the real world.
