Ponteland v Seaton Burn
PONTELAND came out on top in a low scoring encounter with Seaton Burn.

Brendan Meagher (30) played a solid innings but three wickets fell quickly around him as the visitors' star bowler Samaratunga worked his magic.

However, Stuart Taylor held his nerve and started to attack the Seaton Burn bowlers. With reasonable support from Graves (12) and Morgan (11) he hit an excellent 79.

The home side finished on 157 all out, with Samaratunga taking six wickets in total.

But Seaton Burn could not deal with the opening onslaught and none of the opening four batsmen reached double figures.

Duncan McGregor was particularly effective, dismissing three men for ducks, and Jonny Appleby stopped Lyle (20) and Corby (15) from building major innings.

Resistance did come from lower order batsman Tuck and Ponteland were a little concerned when he reached his half century, but McGregor ended his fightback by bowling him when on 54.

Seaton Burn were all out for 121 giving Ponteland victory by 36 runs. McGregor and Appleby finished with figures of 5-21 and 3-20 respectively.
