Morpeth v Percy Main
A SUPERB bowling performance by Morpeth led them to a 134-run thrashing of Percy Main in the top of the table clash at Longhirst.

Mikey Craigs was the star with four wickets, with two wickets each for Jack Palmer and Chris Horner and one for Paul
Elliott as the visitors were all out for just 57 runs.

The home side batted first and lost Darren Leason for just one run, but Blake Reynolds (25) and Jonny Craigs (19) made knocks that look decent when compared to the opposition batsmen.

Then Staurt Alleway and Ben Maxted built a fine partnership, with Maxted making 30 and Alleway 69. Both were dismissed off the bowling of Butler, who was Percy Main's best bowler with figures of 3-57.

Nick Forster made a useful contribution of 16 not out at the end of the innings as Morpeth finished on 191-6.

This was a tough but makeable target for the visitors, however they could not handle Morpeth's bowlers, with none of the first five batsmen making more than seven.

Resistance eventually came from Knight (12) and Nihalaraj (24) but once they were out, the hosts quickly wrapped up the win to take the maximum 20 points.

Morpeth remain in second, but the gap to leaders Percy Main has been reduced to 18 points.

• Morpeth's Second team game away at Benwell and Walbottle was abandoned as the ground was unfit.
