MORPETH'S Joe Robertshaw won the U13 Boys' 100m at the third meeting of the Start Fitness sponsored North Eastern Athletics League held at Gateshead International Stadium.
The North Eastern U13 200m Champion clocked 13.90s.

Elaine Telford had two second places in the Senior Women's 100m (13.09s) and 200m (27.03s).

In the seeded 1500m events Morpeth had good performers in Alistair Douglass, Martyn Cairns, Jordan Scott, Phil Walker and Paul Waterstone.

Alistair, although a little short of his personal best, gave a typical fighting display to finish ninth in the 'A' race in 4m23.36s and was second U17 Men's athlete.

Martyn ran excellently to win the 'B' race in a new personal best of 4m23.59s, finishing two places ahead of Jordan who also clocked a new best of 4m26.58s.

Phil and Paul clocked 4m26.74s and 4m41.32s respectively to finish as seventh and 12th Senior Men.

In the U17 Women's 300m, Zoe Armstrong finished third in 46.2s and Katie Plant finished fifth in the 'B' race of the U15 Girls' 100m in 14.34s.
