Seaton Burn II v Morpeth II
MORPETH continued their promotion push with a comfortable victory away to Seaton Burn.

The visitors won the toss and put the home side into bat. Following a wild delivery that went over the batsman's head without touching the deck, Ben Jones found
his bearings and bowled J. Dixon for a duck.

The next wicket fell shortly afterwards, again from the bowling of Jones after a catch from Embley at mid-wicket. D. Carr was the next to go, caught and bowled by Stuart Hills opening the bowling at the other end.

Hills bowled a mixture of deliveries and some of them paid off as he finished with figures of 3-39.

Seaton Burn did not look convincing with the bat and it was the turn of Paul Jackson to join the wicket taking team, picking up his first and then second wicket for two years in club cricket.

Richard Embley continued the attack, picking up 3 for 16 with some impressive variation and tight line and length, and Seaton Burn were bowled out for 143 with ten overs to spare.

Morpeth were confident of picking up the maximum 20 points and set off quickly to get the required runs.

Everything looked perfect until Jimmy Ingram, Jamie Forster and Sandy Meikle gave their wickets looking for big hits.

But Jackson and Paul Wonders cleaned up the mess and knocked off the total with consummate ease as Morpeth won by six wickets. Jackson and Wonders both finished unbeaten on 25.

Man-of-the-match: Paul Jackson.
