A MORPETH school rugby team could not be caught on their way to victory.
The group of seven Year 4 pupils from Stobhillgate First School were the winners of a tag rugby festival day at Morpeth Rugby Club on Mitford Road.

More than 20 teams took part in the competition organised by the Morpeth and Ponteland School Sports Partnership.

The school's Head Teacher Neil Richmond said: "Our teams had great fun despite the mixed weather and we are very proud that one of our teams won.

"The most important thing about the day was that it gave pupils a healthy activity and brought schools together, so it was worthwhile for everyone involved."

He also praised the Partnership for its organising of the event.
