Rumpy and Emma victorious

LONGHORSLEY girl Emma Carmichael took first place at Skipton Horse Trials in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Junior Regional Novice Section.
The 16-year-old won on her 18-year-old gelding, Royal Rumpus, with a with an excellent dressage score of 23.3 and completed the show jumping and cross-country phases with 7.6 time penalties.

Known as Rumpy, the bay has been competing in the KBIS British Equestrian Insurance JRN's all season and managed to secure his first rosette this season.

Emma said: "It was a total surprise when I had found out I won. Rumpy did a brilliant dressage test, which really left us in a great position from the start.

"I am going to carry on at Novice level for the rest of the season and try to really concentrate on working towards Weston Park."

Emma also has another horse called Paint by Numbers, who is currently competing in his first season at Intro level.
