CASTLE Morpeth residents are being encouraged to step up to the triathlon challenge to raise money for charity.
The Sunshine Fund is organising the North East Sunshine Tri event in Ponteland on Sunday, August 17.

It starts with a 400m swim in Ponteland Leisure Centre's pool, is followed by a 20K bike ride around the village and finishes with a 5K off road run.

Individuals can enter the competition, sponsored by the Edinburgh Cycle Co-operative, for £20 or teams of three can enter for £30 and all participants will receive a teeshirt after they have completed the triathlon.

Money raised will go to the fund, which aims to enhance the lives of local disabled children and their families through the provision of essential equipment, learning aids and custom built apparatus.

Places are limited so if you are interested please contact Emma Jamieson on 0191 2016090 to reserve your place.
