Blyth 25 Ponteland 30 Durham and Northumberland, Division One
Ponteland are still in there fighting after an excellent win at Blyth on Saturday.
The home side went 10-0 ahead after seven minutes, but the visitors responded strongly and Michael Searle scored a try, which was converted by Dan Walton.
Jack Storey and Richie Moller touched down either side of half time and Pete Newbigin’s try converted by Walton made it 24-10 to Pont.
The see-saw nature of the game continued as Blyth scored 15 unanswered points to lead by one, but Walton kicked over a long range penalty and Searle sealed the win with a penalty in injury time.
The bonus point success means that Ponteland have a chance of avoiding relegation if they beat Bishop Auckland at home on Saturday, although they need other results to go their way.
