Galaxy’s stellar display

Seaton Delaval Dynamos Zagreb U12 1
Morpeth SC Galaxy U12 2

Despite the somewhat damp conditions, Galaxy fought hard to come from behind and beat Seaton Delaval.

The game – switched to Swinney’s after Delaval’s pitch was deemed unplayable – was end-to-end throughout and could have been won by either team.

The first goal came midway through the first half as a Delaval striker found space to fire in from a cross.

Galaxy were determined to hit back and did so just before half-time.

Farrier’s persistence in chasing down a loose ball was rewarded as the Galaxy midfielder was first to the long ball. One controlled lob later and it was one all.

Midway through the second half, Galaxy took the lead as a short corner found its way to Nellis on the edge of the penalty area.

After turning past one defender, the centre-back unleashed what can only be described as a bullet into the far corner.

Further goals could easily have been added.

Hope made a number of excellent saves to earn himself the man-of-the-match award.

Starting XI: Hope, Morrison, Nellis, Dunn, McCormack, Farrier, Welbury, Glover, Whittle, Takher, Charlton. Subs: Wilson, Bickerton.
