Morpeth Town 1 Dunston UTS 3 Ebac Northern League, Division One

Recent signing from Spennymoor Town, Keith Graydon, made his Highway Men debut, but he could not prevent Dunston UTS taking all three points.

Michael Dixon opened the scoring on six minutes, when he fired past Karl Dryden in the Morpeth goal.

On the half-hour, Steven Anderson almost equalised for Morpeth, but his cushioned header hit the crossbar.

Ten minutes from the break, Wightman drove home from the edge of the box to double Dunston UTS’s advantage.

Morpeth pressed hard in the second half to get back into the game, but were caught out with 10 minutes remaining when Bulford broke free of the Morpeth defence to make it 3-0.

With five minutes left in the game, Sean Taylor was up-ended in the box and he scored Morpeth’s consolation from the penalty spot.
