JOHN Carver’s says he does NOT need to apologise for his outburst at fans during Newcastle United’s defeat to Swansea City.

Carver will today meet two supporters who he exchanged words with last weekend.

And the club’s head coach will also meet another fan who labelled his reaction to abuse during the club’s seventh successive defeat as “unprofessional”.

But Carver – who issued an apology for a verbal spat with supporters before Newcastle’s 4-0 defeat at Southampton early this season – maintains that he did not use foul or abusive language.

“When it happened at Southampton I apologised, but I don’t feel I need to apologise this time,” said Carver.

“I don’t have to do it, to be honest, because there’s more to it. I don’t really want to go into it, but I’ll speak to the fans.”

Carver will have a “two-way conversation” with the two supporters he exchanged words with during the Swansea game.

He will also let them watch training and talk them through some of his preparation work for tomorrow’s game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

“They’re coming in in the morning – Thomas and young Allen,” said Carver. “I’ve also spoken to Karen, and she’s coming in before the West Ham game to meet Liz the tea lady and myself.

“I think it’s important to have a chat with them, because I’m one of them.

“I understand their frustrations. If I was in the stand, I might be asking the manager those questions.

“When I’ve come back to the club in the past to watch a game I’ve questioned things.”
