Morpeth Sunday League round-up

Division One

Bedlington Barrington Arms recorded a solid 3-0 home win over Stobswood.

The Monkey took the lead mid-way through the first half after a superb diagonal cross from youngster Kieran Eagan was headed home by marauding full-back Daniel Dargue.

Bedlington doubled their advantage in the second half as a long throw-in was flicked across the box by Chris Dobey and David Scott met the ball with a powerful close-range header which flew into the left-hand corner of the goal.

The win was wrapped up when captain Calum Donohoe played a long-ball behind the defence, which was chased by David Scott, who headed it past the onrushing goalkeeper and passed the ball into the empty net.

Amble Tavern and The Wharton Arms battled to a 1-1 draw. Lee Harker was on target for Amble and The Wharton goal was scored by Simon Cunningham.
