CHALLENGE CUP

ASHINGTON RAOB booked a final place after a 2-1 win over Stakeford Half Moon in the ES Johnson Challenge Cup yesterday.

The Buffs won the semi-final after early goals from Lenny Lansbury and Sean Gibson handed them the advantage and, despite a goal from Ben Corcan, the Half Moon could not turn the tie around.

LEWIN CUP

IN the Lewin Cup, Bomarsund Social Club beat Red Row Brick Club by the odd goal in seven to make progress to the semi-final.

Sean Palmer (two) and Adam Shanks were on target for the Brick, but Bomarsund bettered that with a brace from Jamie Thompson and goals from Kris Grey and Phil Park.

DIVISION ONE

AMBLE Pier 81 maintained their 100 per cent league record in Division One, but had to survive a scare along the way.

Stefan Tweddle and Anthony Wade both scored for Stobswood Welfare in the first half to hand them a 2-0 lead, but Pier 81 came back firmly with goals from Josh Hay (two), Sean Taylor and Darren Riddell to take the points.

Bedlington Barrington Arms enjoyed an emphatic 6-1 win over Woodhorn Lane. Dylan Williamson bagged a hat-trick and other goals came from David Scott, Calum Donohoe and Sean Cowell. Andy Spratt replied for the Lane.

DIVISION TWO

AMBLE Dock Hotel were top-scorers in Division Two as they won 6-1 at North End Trap.

Carl Taylor helped himself to half the total and was joined on the scoresheet by Jaden Hindhaugh, Conor Miller and Timmy Young. Stuart Oman scored for the Trap.

Village Inn, Lonframlington, took another three points in their promotion push, with a 2-1 win at Alnmouth Argyle.

James Thorpe scored for Argyle, but goals from Daniel Thompson and Stu Hoyle secured the win for the visitors.

River Coquet FC also won away at Newbiggin Bankhouse with a 4-1 scoreline.

East Chevington and Felton shared the spoils after their encounter ended 2-2. Matty Spiers scored twice for Chevington and James Jackson and Tony Brown replied for Felton.
