An inspired second-half performance saw Ashington RAOB comfortably defeat Bedlington Barrington Arms 8-2 on Sunday.
Ashington had led by two goals but ‘The Monkey’ managed to get back into the contest thanks to a goal from David Scott on the stroke of half-time and a Chris Dobey effort on the hour-mark.
Their efforts were to no avail though as Ashington finished the stronger of the two teams and they grabbed all three points.
The win was wrapped up courtesy of a brace from Keith Douglas, single goals from Shaun Gibson, Liam Davidson, Craig Robinson and a hat-trick from second-half substitute Damon Mullen.
In the division’s only other game, The Wharton Arms edged out Stobswood 2-1 thanks to a Joe Moscrop double. The Stobswood response was scored by David King.
East Chevington top the table as they recorded their fourth successive victory, defeating Alnmouth Argyle 8-0, with Sean Palmer helping himself to four of the goals.
Jordan Giles grabbed a brace and the scoring was completed by Darren Smith and Gary Reid.
HMP Northumberland ran out 3-1 winners against Ashington Conchie thanks to goals from Jason Singh (two) and Ryan McQue, the Conchie reply was scored by Michael Freathy.
That victory now ties HMP on points with Ashington but they still remain third in the table on goal difference.
Morpeth Shambles defeated Amble Dock Hotel 3-1, with Jack Palmer scoring two and a solitary strike from Paul Straker. The Amble reply was scored by Andy Metcalf.
North End Trap and Amble Blue Bell played out a 1-1 draw.
