MORPETH Town have appointed a new manager.

Former Northampton Town player Nick Gray was picked by the board following the departure of Trevor Benjamin. He was chosen ahead of Tom Wade, who was in charge of the club for a brief period at the start of last season.

Gray was manager of Seaton Delaval Amateurs for the last four years and he has extensive coaching experience at youth level.

He has now assembled a squad of 30 players and Morpeth have arranged the following pre-season friendlies to fully prepare them for the start of the new campaign on August 13.

It will be hosted by comedian Mike Cash and the guest speaker is former Newcastle United player John Beresford.
