League leaders Amble United suffered a rare defeat, kicked out of the League Cup at the second hurdle by Killingworth Sporting.

They lost 3-2 this afternoon in the Kicks Leisure George Dobbins League Cup.

Wooler also exited the competition, going down 4-3 at Willington Quay Saints after extra-time.

But Wallington kept the mid-Northumberland flag flying with a 2-3 victory at Cullercoats.

Back in the league, Morpeth Town A’s miserable season continued with a 3-0 defeat at Bedlington Terriers Reserves in Division One, and Ponteland United shared the points with a 2-2 draw at Cramlington Town.

In Division Two, Alnwick Town Reserves lost 3-1 at Wideopen.

Full report, with goalscorers, to come.
