They duly won 0-1 at mid-table Blyth Isabella to stay top of the league, although North Shields Athletic are still hot on their heels, with a game in hand, after their 6-0 win over Newcastle Benfield Reserves.

In the George Dobbins League Cup, Ponteland United progressed to Round Three thanks to victory by 3-1 against Shankhouse.

However, Morpeth Town A went down 3-2 at Forest Hall in Division One.
