Morpeth Sunday League Round-up

AMBLE Pier 81 are the first team through to the second round of the Lewin Cup with a fine 4-0 win at Stobswood Welfare.

In the ACS Dobfar Cup, Felton made it through after a 7-4 win at Morpeth Riverside Lodge in their first-round encounter.

North End Trap also made progress following a 2-1 win over Morpeth Chantry.

Stakeford Half Moon hit top spot in Division One with a 5-1 win over Bomarsund Social Club. John Bone scored for Bomarsund, but the Half Moon won it with goals from Liam Candlish (2), a pair of penalties from Andrew Carr and a goal from Curtis Taylor.

Pegswood Ex-Services also went nap as Kevin Bell (3) and Wyn Fremlin (2) bagged the goals beating Red Row Brick Club 5-0.

A single strike from Colin Madigan was enough to secure three points for Bedlington Barrington Arms away to Woodhorn Lane.

Blackthorn Rovers picked up their first three points of the season as they beat East Chevington in Division Two.

Craig Murray (2), Mark Collins, Ross Jewitt and Daniel Webb were all on target for Rovers in a 5-2 success.

East Chevington replied with a goal from Chris Godfrey and an own-goal.
