Morpeth SC Galaxy 6 Kingston Park Pumas 0
GALAXY finished the season in style with a comfortable win over bottom side Kingston Park as two records were broken.
It was a fairly even first half, with the visitors having their best chance of the game. One of their strikers was sent clean on goal, but could only shoot wide under pressure from Small as Hope quickly narrowed the angle.
It was 1-0 at half-time, with Farrier scoring his second goal of the season mid-way through the half. The right-back latched onto a loose ball following a corner to rifle a shot into the far corner.
While it was not all one way, the hosts had much the better of the play, with the teams camped in the Kingston Park half.
Five goals in all were scored, with Davison shooting high into the roof of the net in stoppage time and Charlton firing home.
Meanwhile, Whittle got his second of the game. Galaxy’s number seven ignored his dad’s instruction to put in a cross and instead rifled the ball inside the near-post for a satisfactory alternative.
Ten minutes from the end, Whittle tapped in for his third goal, becoming the first Galaxy player to score a hat-trick in the process.
Eventually, the final whistle came and saw Galaxy finish their season by recording their biggest win yet.
