George Cave Cup (Quarter-finals)

In the George Cave Cup quarter-finals, Red Row followed up their recent good form with a 4-1 win over North End Trap thanks to a goal each from Adam Shanks, Sean Palmer, Reece Ramsay and Ryan Jones.

The Trap’s response was scored by Stu Oman.

Division One

Pegswood Ex solidified their position at the top of the table with a great 7-0 win over Stobswood.

The division’s top scorer Ashley McAlpine added another four goals to his impressive tally this season and the win was rounded off courtesy of a Stu Marshall brace and a single goal from Mickey Adamson.

In the Bedlington derby, Barrington Arms defeated The Wharton Arms 3-1 thanks to goals from Josh Laverick, Dylan Williamson and Shaun Cowell, the Wharton’s reply was scored by Damon Mullen.

Ashington RAOB’s title challenge was dealt a blow as they were defeated 2-0 by Amble Tavern with Matty Graham scoring both of the goals.

Finally in Division One this week Amble Dock Hotel and Morpeth Chantry played out a 1-1 draw with David Whenray scoring for Amble Dock. Robbie Wilkinson got Chantry’s only goal.

Division Two

Top of the table clash Riverside Lodge have almost guaranteed themselves the title after defeating rivals Bomarsund 3-1.

Dan Thompson got a double for the Riverside and the scoring was rounded off by a Glen Rearden penalty, Andy Welsh got the sole goal for Bomarsund.

Alnmouth Argyle remain third in the division as they defeated Shakespeare Tavern 4-0 thanks to a brace from Jordan Frost and a goal each from Chris Chisholm and Reagan Turnbull.

Felton halted their recent slump as they overcame East Chevington 4-3.

Gareth McCann helped himself to a hat-trick with the other goal coming from Ross Jackson.

East Chevington’s goals were scored by Gary Reid, Jonathan Shepherd and Darren Smith.

Finally in Division Two this week bottom side Amble Blue Bell defeated Blackthorn Rovers 4-2 thanks to braces from John Spears and Jordan Roper respectively.
