Morpeth Town 1 Marske United 1 AET (Morpeth win 4-3 on penalties)
FA Carlsberg Vase 1st Qualifying Round Replay
AFTER a very creditable draw at first division Marske on Teesside, Morpeth eventually saw off their opponents at Craik Park.
The Highwaymen fell behind on only three minutes when a strike from distance by Charlton gave the visitors the lead.
Despite this setback, Town gained control of midfield and with Tumilty imperious at the back they deservedly equalised when he carried the ball 20 yards out of defence and his pinpoint throughball released the advancing Cartwight, who scored from just outside the penalty area.
From this point on Marske rarely troubled the home defence but dogged defending and fine goalkeeping kept them in the game.
With no goals in the second half or extra-time, the game was decided by penalties.
Mundy, who was a late replacement for the injured Wells, saved the first Marske spot kick.
Anderson, Henderson, McAlpine and Wilson all found the back of the Marske net and with their final spot kick the Highwaymen were through to the next round, which will take place on Saturday with a home fixture against Whitehaven, kick-off is 3pm.

Ebac Northern League Division Two
THE Highway Men remain unbeaten in the league as a towering Tumilty header gave them a share of the points on Saturday against Stokesley.
The exertions of the midweek extra time victory over Marske took their toll as Morpeth put in a lackluster performance.
On 20 minutes, Cartwright’s 25-yard free kick was tipped onto underside of the bar by Willey in the home goal.
A minute from half-time, Town conceded possession on edge of their box and Stokesley’s McNicholl capitalised to score.
With the game entering its final stages, McAlpine won a corner on the left and his accurate kick was met by Tumilty – whose towering header found the back of the net.
Any chance of victory was extinguished five minutes from time when Anderson won a fee kick on the halfway line but over reacted and received a red card for retaliation.
