Helping hand for golf fans

A SPECIAL golf session is being held for Northumberland and Tyneside residents with a disability on Monday.

The free taster day will be delivered by PGA professional Craig Fetherston.

Lisa Ferrie, county development officer for the Northumberland County Golf Partnership, said: “Golf is a sport that can be played by all ages and abilities.

“This taster session is also for carers and friends who would like to give golf a go and to find out what a fun activity it can be.

“The great thing about golf is that players with different levels of ability, ages or health can compete on a level playing field due to the rules and scoring and enjoy the social side of the sport together too.”

The event will be held at Centurion Park Golf Club, Wallsend, between 11am and 2pm. Anyone interested in taking part should email getintogolf@yahoo.com to book a place and find out more information.
