RESIDENTS are being urged to sign up for a fund-raising run to help transform the lives of under-privileged people at home and abroad.
The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is back and is coming to Druridge Bay Country Park on Sunday.
It is the second time that the Northumberland beauty spot has hosted the event.
Sport Relief is one of the UK’s biggest fund-raisers, bringing the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives – so it’s time to dust off those trainers and enter now.
The Druridge Bay event will see runners start at the visitor centre and follow a route around the Ladyburn Lake.
Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part and can choose to complete one, three or six miles.
Doug Lowery of Northumberland Sport, which is organising the Druridge Bay event, said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at Druridge Bay Country Park is back and it’s your time to shine.
“From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day.”
