Stobswood (61-1) v Monkseaton (60) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One
STOBSWOOD cemented their place in the top half of the table as their opponents could not handle the home side’s bowling attack.
Monkseaton made a solid start in the first few overs, but were soon on the back foot when Elliott (seven) was caught by Richard Watson off the bowling of Paul Patterson for seven and fellow opener Tunstall (13) could only find the same safe pair of hands from an Ian Watson delivery.
None of their other batsmen could reach double figures as the visitors were all out for 60. Ian Watson took six wickets in total and Michael Beverley claimed three scalps.
The hosts easily reached 61 and they lost just one wicket. Ian Watson made it a good afternoon all round as he finished on 34 not out and Daniel Watson was 15 not out.
