Ulgham (177) v Whitley Bay (95) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One
ULGHAM moved further into mid-table following one of their best displays of the season on Saturday.
The top order all pitched in when the hosts batted first, although a few of them will be disappointed that they could not go on and score a half-century.
Colin Tait was top-scorer with 38, David Covell and Darrell Campbell made 30 and 29 respectively and Mark Plummer, Roy Haygarth and Chase Evans all had scores in the teens as Ulgham were 177 all out.
Whitley Bay’s batsmen found it difficult to keep the scoreboard ticking over and the pressure told as they were dismissed for just 95.
David Charlton was the pick of the Ulgham bowling attack with figures of five for 31. Covell (two), David Moore, Campbell and Evans were the other wicket-takers.
