Ponteland (99 all out) v Tynedale (140 all out) Northumberland & Tyneside Senior Cricket League, Division A1

Ponteland fell to defeat on Saturday despite a decent bowling performance.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat. Plenty of Tynedale batsmen reached double figures, but none of them were able to go on and make a big score.

Mark Turnbull (3-39) and Ed Common (2-20) dismissed top and middle-order batsmen, Liam Cosgrove claimed a scalp and the last four wickets were taken by Tom Seymour as the away side finished 140 all out.

However, Pont found it even tougher during their innings and they slumped to 99 all out. Seymour hit 30 from 41 balls, but the next highest scorer, Wayne Ritzema, could only make 18 runs.
