THE Mitford Boars beat off stiff competition to win the Just Sport West Tyne T20 event at Stocksfield Cricket Club.
In the first semi-final against Stocksfield Spartans, the Boars put on 155 for eight with Patel top scoring with 46 and Crowe contributing an important 23.
In reply, the Spartans were restricted to 126 all out with three wickets apiece for Dunn and Crowe.
South North Bulls defeated Wark Reivers in the second semi-final.
Batting first, the Bulls scored 180 for five and they then bowled out the Reivers for 118.
In the final, South North Bulls hit 159 for six off their 20 overs with Gallagher 59 not out and Jack contributing 34.
In reply, Mitford Boars made a slow start and were well behind the target rate after 10 overs.
But a storming innings by Dunn transformed the situation and in an exciting finish the Boars won with two balls to spare.
Dunn finished on 71, Crowe contributed another valuable 22 and the hard-hitting Brown ended up on 25.
